Disney Jobs

Disney jobs  have really great benefits. The Walt Disney Corporation was founded in 1923. Surely you are familiar with Mickey Mouse, Disney’s first character, and with the movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Disney’s first full length animated movie. What started out as Walt Disney Studios has become an international family entertainment and media enterprise. It consists of the following four main business divisions; media networks, parks and resorts, studio entertainment and consumer products.

Have you ever been to a Walt Disney Theme Park or Resort? There are tons of people there with amazing Disney jobs ! If you haven’t then you don’t know what you are missing. Disneyworld in Florida and Disneyland in California truly are as their slogan says, the place “Where Dreams Come True”. For kids it’s like living a fairytale and for adults it’s just as exciting especially if your kids are with you. Watching the face of your child when he/she first meets Mickey Mouse or sees the “parade” go by is a sight you’ll never forget.

Disney also has a cruise line, eight vacation club resorts and five resort locations. It has one in California, one in Florida and also in Tokyo, Paris and Hong Kong. And on April of this year ground was broken on a new Disney Theme Park in Shangchai, China

It can’t be that there is a home today in the U.S.(and probably in most countries around the world) which doesn’t have some Disney consumer products. Whether it’s a Mickey Mouse doll, clothing, stickers, toys or books there’s sure to be at least one in each house. Disney actually started merchandising in 1929 when a businessman approached Walt Disney and asked to put Mickey mouse on the cover of a kids writing pad. Mickey Mouse’s smiling face must have  cheered up a lot of people during the Great Depression of 1929. Mickey has been with us for over 80 years and nobody has ever gotten tired of him.

Disney sounds like a fun and exciting company. Did you ever consider applying for a Disney job? All across the world Disney is known to create entertaining and memorable stories and experiences and they want to keep that image. Those in charge of the Disney Corporation realize that their continuing success depends on the creativity and passion of its employees. To that end Disney is dedicated to making a career at their company rewarding and worthwhile. That makes Disney jobs very desirable. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of the Walt Disney Company?

There are lots of rules and regulations that you must agree to before being hired. For example cast members need to follow the Disney Look which is a set of appearance guidelines that are required in order to compliment the cast members and the show. For men , if you are on stage, your hair has to be above the ear and off the back of the collar, no beards, a trimmed mustache is allowed, and you may not wear earrings necklaces or bracelets. You may wear one ring on each hand and a watch. As for the women, your hair can’t be frosted, you have to wear natural looking make-up, small earrings, no necklaces or bracelets and no long nails or dark nail polish. And you had better go dressed properly to the interview. That means that if you are applying for an hourly role (Disney refers to a job as a “role”) you should be well groomed with clean clothes and a neat appearance. If you are applying for a professional role you should wear standard business attire.

A person who is applying for a full time Disney job must really be available full time. For a part time position you would need to work 2-3 full days per week. Sometimes there are also seasonable jobs available. Now for the most important part, to many people, the salary.Entry level Disney jobs pay $7.45/hour for full time, part time and seasonal roles. If you get a job in the Food and Beverage Outdoor areas the pay is $7.95/hr. Jobs in the security division pay $9.94/hr (it seems like you get paid more to protect Mickey Mouse). The highest paying job is that of a bus driver at $10.55/hr.

Different Disney Job Opportunities

There are Disney jobs available for those of you just out of high school as front line people in the Disney Theme Parks.
